Horsham YMCA were this week officially named Sussex
County League Division 1 team of the month for October, receiving their trophy during
a presentation that took place before Wednesday evening's RUR Charity Cup tie at
Peacehaven and Telscombe.
YM went unbeaten in the league all throughout
October, picking up a maximum fifteen points from five league games and netting
twenty-four goals in the process, as they brushed aside the likes of Pagham,
Hassocks and Rye United.
YM manager Peter Buckland beamed: "We
had a really nice presentation out on the pitch before the game on Wednesday,
where we were awarded a lovely crystal trophy for the October team of the
month.
"It was a really nice touch that marked
all of the hard work and effort that saw us add to our undefeated run last
month."
YM's ten game unbeaten run was unfortunately brought
to an end away at East Preston last Saturday, but they will hope to re-kindle
some of the form that saw them crowned Division 1's best team for October, when
they face Ardley United in the Second Round of the FA Vase tomorrow.
